​This one day very special and unique adventure takes you away from the bustling city of Marrakech and on to the Marrakech Plain and amongst the gently rolling Jbilet hills. It is a most immersive day in several aspects of "real Morocco, behind the door".

This tranquil day first allows you to be with the ladies of a couscous co-operative and to gain instruction on making couscous and, of course, trying this for yourself. Lunch will be taken with them too (as well as a traditional second breakfast before you start your "couscous cookery chores").

The afternoon is a 4 x 4 trip across the Marrakech Plain and amongst the Jbilet hills, viewing traditional rural lifestyles. Many stops will be taken, as wished, in order to take in the views, the ambience and to savour, hopefully, a few chance encounters with the native people and their activities. A village will be visited to better understand the building styles, materials and functions.

As the sun descends in late afternoon, a vantage point will be chosen from which to view the sunset. Mint tea, a range of nuts/nibbles and a selection of Moroccan patisserie will be provided to ensure a cosy end to an exhilarating day.

In early evening you are returned to your Marrakech accommodation.

Away from the bustling city of Marrakech, on the tranquil Marrakech Plain & Jbilet hills, first stop is a visit Dar Couscous to see/participate in couscous manufacture. The King's wife buys from here! After second breakfast, the ladies of the Couscous Co-operative will explain all aspects of making couscous before you may wish to try your hand at this labour intensive process.

The afternoon is an extensive 4 x 4 trip across the Marrakech Plain and amongst the Jbilet hills, a chance to understand traditional countryside lifestyles and activities, both their demands and their pleasures. Several stops will be made to take in the views and also to engage with any local people we meet.

As the sun lowers, a magic moment will be enjoyed with mint tea, nibbles and Moroccan patisserie. An ideal spot will be chosen from which to view the setting sun before then being returned to your accommodation in Marrakech.
